Limitations
You should follow YouTube’s limitations when uploading a custom thumbnail.
- Images should not exceed 2 MB in size
- The image file format must be PNG, JPG, or GIF
- The image can have a ratio of 16:9.
- 640 pixels
- 1280 * 720 in resolution
Furthermore, you can choose any other thumbnail from the three suggested by YouTube rather than uploading your own. The choice is yours.
